CATH CLARKE - Lead vocals, flute, guitar

From singing  duets with her brother at a very young age Cath progressed through school on the recorder, flute and guitar, singing in choirs and playing in the school orchestra. As a teenager Cath started to write her own songs, and still does to this day.

Cath's love of peforming music has continued in adulthood through choirs, music groups and amateur musicals. Her favourite role was playing Mary Magdalene in 'Jesus Christ Superstar'.

Cath's real passion is singing.  Whether that be harmonising, backing or taking lead vocals, singing is where her heart is.  Cath has an eclectic taste in music but particularly important to her is a song that tells a story with a good melody.

Cath is married with two grown-up daughters.

Having  roadied for a semi-professional band in the late '80's, Paul was inspired by the bass player and yet it was another decade or so before he took the plunge and bought a bass
After a handful of lessons and gaining experience by joining the local church's music group Paul joined the band in 2008.

Bass playing is now a real passion, although in recent radio recordings with the band he has enjoyed the opportunity to add some vocals on some of the tracks. Previous experience has included acting and singing roles in amateur musicals such as John the Baptist (Godspell) and Peter (Jesus Christ Superstar).

Paul runs his own Financial Planning Consultancy and in his  spare time enjoys playing  golf and watching Manchester City.

DAVE PEDDIE - Guitar, Vocals

Dave  started playing guitar when he was 18, around the same time as he became a Christian.

A friend of his could play and Dave reckoned if his friend could do it, so could he! Since then he has been in various folk, rock, Christian rock and worship bands.

His musical tastes and influences are fairly eclectic: Peter, Paul and Mary, Joan Baez, The Shadows, Wishbone Ash, Yes, Dire Straits, 2nd Chapter of Acts, Keith Green, Depeche Mode, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Iona, Hendrix, Clapton, The Who, U2, Muse, to name but a few.

He believes that music has a tremendous power to affect people, both emotionally and spiritually, and he loves being part of that.

Dave is married to Jan, and they have a son, Joel who is married to Sarah.

PAUL PICKUP - Lead Guitar

Paul is originally from Wavertree, Liverpool and first picked up a guitar when aged about 13, and started by learning many Shadows tunes. There was of course the Mersey Beat influence as well at that time.

His first gig was in 1967 in a band formed with his friends from the Scouts and local church. The band was called “Corruption”and played a few gigs in the Scout hut, earning 10 shillings a time.

Although he never put the guitar to one side, he concentrated on motor rallying for the next few decades, becoming a successful road rally navigator (top10 Motoring News series standard) and stage co-driver (top 20 Castrol Autosport series standard). He was also Deputy Clerk of the Course for the Lombard RAC Rally, being responsible for the North West England stages and rest halts.

He then moved on to live rally commentating and motor sport journalism, writing for Autosport and the Liverpool Echo and jointly ran the Oulton Park Racing Circuit press office.

Music came back into Paul's life in a major way in the late 1980s, when, having moved to Runcorn he started attending church again and was encouraged by the minister to play in the services. This led him in 1995 to join a local worship band called “Heptagon”, firstly on bass and later lead guitar. The band played all over the country including full weeks at Southport Theatre and Torquay Riviera Centre as part of the “Easter People” events. The band also self-published 3 CDs and recorded for BBC Radio Merseyside.

Paul has two sons.

We are also very grateful to both Jan who is our faithful roadie, groupie and much appreciated photographer and to Colin who has recently joined us to be our roadie and who makes us wonder how me managed without him before!
